I don't want to say it's not going well, because I've been doing quite a lot of knitting, but if I keep ripping out the sweater and starting over, I'm not going to finish by the end of the month. I cast on for the THIRD time this morning, because I didn't have the right number of pattern stitches and there wasn't an easy way to correct it. Somehow it's easier to frog this sweater since I haven't been working on it long enough to get attached.
The current iteration is only about 2 inches long at the moment, so here's a picture of Take 2, right before I unraveled it. Radiate, from Knitty Spring 09. For some reason the current fashion is to fasten cardigans only at the top, but I'm pretty sure that would just look like maternity wear and I so will be adding buttons all the way down the front. Sleeves as long as I have the yarn for.
I also made myself finish last years NaKniSweFail before I started this one. I'm not too happy with the way the neckline turned out-- it's supposed to be hooded, but I barely had enough yarn as it is, so I just bound off and the shape is a little odd. Also, the fabric is drapier than I would have preferred, but overall I really like it. Please excuse my doofy expression. I'm trying to look nonchalant while standing very still on my porch in the snow. It's Rogue, a very lovely pattern even though it took me a year to finish it.
